In the lead-up to the upcoming CIES 2026 Conference, Chalan Foundation hosted a Peace Art Day in Kapsabet, bringing together children to creatively express what peace means to them. The activity invited learners to create artwork based on the theme of peace, offering a safe and expressive space for children to share their perspectives, experiences, and hopes for a more united world.

Through drawings, paintings, and visual storytelling, children highlighted themes such as:

• Unity and coexistence
• Safe and supportive schools
• Love, friendship, and community
• Freedom from violence and fear

This initiative is part of Chalan Foundation’s partnership with WiseEd in preparation for CIES 2026, where the global theme is “Re-examining Education and Peace in a Divided World.”

The artwork collected will contribute to showcasing children’s voices and lived experiences at the international conference, reinforcing the importance of including young people in conversations about peacebuilding.

Peace Art Day reflects Chalan Foundation’s belief that children are not just beneficiaries of education systems, but active contributors to shaping peaceful and inclusive societies.
