Supporting the Whole Child for Sustainable Learning

We believe that a supported child is a sustainable learner.

True education extends beyond the classroom; it must encompass the body, mind, and soul. In many rural and underserved areas where Chalan works, children face daily battles with invisible wounds, trauma, neglect, stigma, and lack of basic health support that threaten their ability to thrive.

This program pillar focuses on creating environments of safety, healing, and dignity, especially for adolescent girls and vulnerable children.

Our menstrual health initiative provides:

  • Menstrual hygiene dignity packs (sanitary towels)
  • Education sessions for girls and boys to break menstrual stigma
  • Support systems that ensure no girl stays home during her period
  • Partnerships with schools and school workers to track needs and reach underserved areas

This is not just about hygiene; it is about equal opportunity. Every time a girl misses school due to menstruation, she falls behind. We are changing the story by affirming dignity and bodily confidence.
